Dudes, I am so glad this month is over!!! I have really (REALLY) enjoyed wearing so many handmade goodies. BUT it was a little stressful with the sucky weather we’ve had here in Brooklyn.

As you can see from the (artificial) brightness of this pic, today was another scorcher 😉

MMM.D31 :: C'est Fini!!

I’d like to thank my little daughter (and Picmonkey Lomo & Focal Zoom effects) for the pictures!! Can you believe a six year-old got that jump shot on the first try!! My oldest son snapped the last one. Much like yesterday’s post. They probably think its completely normal to make your own clothes and then take silly pictures in them, lol

Love my kiddies!!

You can see all of my Me Made May looks by clicking the pic, below!

New DRESSSSSSSSS!!!

1960s via 2013
I used the last of this origami bird/weird crown/small-ish white print fabric on this dress about 2 weeks ago, but it only made its debut today! I made a skirt with this fabric, last summer.

I was having a great time (NOT) trying to match patterns with off cuts and short yardages of fabric. Fun times….I was super psyched when I found a match.

This is essentially a (wearable, obviously) muslin. The bodice is a bit roomy in the chest, but still totally passable, in my opinion. I have a few go-to skirt patterns, I really want to get a good go-to bodice in my TNT pattern house. I’m pretty close with this one. I added an inch, but in the wrong place. Not the first time I’ve made this error. I’m trying to decide which fabric to use for version 2.

This fabric is cute, but quite unforgiving. It shows pin/needle holes and it tore in two (small) places on try #1000 of inserting the zipper. It was late and I should have left it for another day. Lesson learned. A little fusible interfacing and some strategic fabric marker application and it was alright in the end.

Just look how happy I was!

This was before I started sweating like crazy. It was HOTTTTT today! And this fabric left none of the evidence to the imagination….at least it dried quickly. Ahem. 😉

Last day of Me Made May, tomorrow!!! Should I make something new to wear???

Thanks so much for your feedback on being a copycat! You guys sure know how to make a girl feel better!

Also: PAVOT is totally sold out!! Sacré Bleu, lol

Do you think Lee got wind of my plans?

We were on our way home from this month’s BurdaStyle Sewing club meet up. Which was so much fun! I always have a great time when I get together with other sewcialists. It’s a special bonus when the kids can all come along.

And was nice to have a reason to wear this brand, spankin’ new make: Megan Nielsen’s Tania Culottes! They sooo super work! My kids kept questioning me about why they shouldn’t call it a skirt, lol

MMM.D26 :: Tania in Lomo

I cut the size medium, with the length of the largest size, and made the waistband pieces a bit larger. I usually have trouble sticking to the recommended seam allowance, but I must have done a good job because the larger pieces were too long. I was able to cut them down, no problem. BUT, I did have a bear of a time with the hems.

I’m sure I was making this face the whole time, lol

MMM.D26 :: Tania in Lomo

This challis loved to slip around, so my back pieces ended up longer on the outer edges. Which made it obvious that I wasn’t wearing a skirt which is NOT the point of this cleverly designed pattern. Though it hurt to do, I unpicked both (double) hems, trimmed them even with the front, serged, pressed, and added the new hem. It was a real pain in the ass, but so worth it because I love these!! I need to buy a ton more challis to make a culotte collection 😉

In short, buy this pattern. Make. And wear!

We’re in the home stretch of Me Made May and there are SO many things I haven’t worn due to this sucky ass weather we’re having. It is so cold here!

So, I’m keeping warm indoors. With sewing (Megan Nielsen’s Tania), watching British TV on Amazon Instant (Keeping Up Appearances and Coupling) and making Vine videos 😉 (1, 2)

MMM.D14 :: Wool in May

It’s May, and I wore a wool dress, today. Comfortably.

I’m glad I wore this today. I nearly cut out another one last night. Wearing it today reminded me that the neckline is too high. I’m pleased with everything else, except the facings which will be replaced with bias tape. I’m a convert.

Apropos of nothing, I had angel hair pasta with meat sauce for lunch 😮

I kid. This pic shows the dress well.

 Dotty tights! LOVE! Just be glad I shaved my legs before donning them. Sasquatch ain’t got nothing on me, lol

Also, looking at these pics, I wonder if this dress is too short?? It doesn’t feel like it while wearing it…

I haven’t fallen off the MMMay wagon! I’ve just been slammed with…things.

SO many things to do this week!

Wore my Scout/Roxanne Mash-up on Tuesday. The Nani Iro fabric and gray shoes coordinated well with my still bandaged arm. This was the longest day EVER, which accounts for the tired looking pics and the missing earrings.
MMM.D7 :: Hey, Nani, Nani
I had a meeting with some fellow parents early in the AM, then went to have my tattoo finished, then picked up the kids, dropped them off and went to work. I was so tired I bit the dust in the train station on the way home. I wasn’t hurt (much) and I was way too tired to be embarrassed.

Went on a little go-see about a part-time job this day. Archer was just the thing to wear. A lot of little things have been falling together, lately. So happy!

Also, it rained BUCKETS this day! I was still wet from the knee down when I snapped these!

This is a cheat day. This week had me beat! But, the tee is from Etsy, and everything else is a million years old. So, I’ll count it ;o)

I also wore me made, today. But as I am still wiped out (partially from some failed sewing done late last night) I will end here and show you all, tomorrow.

Hope your weekend is going well!
