My Sister’s Art

I FINALLY cleaned up the Lady Cave! It was in dire straits, people. Seriously. It took several hours to unearth the floor and get all the bits back where they belonged. I’m sure there’s still some fabric in the wrong bin, but I’m really pleased with it overall. The floor space is so plentiful with the room clean, lol. No more cutting in the living room. And now, there’s space to try out some YouTube workouts since there’s room near the computer.

Anyway, I have so many things I want to hang in here and in the rest of the apartment. We have things to put up but no get-up-and-go to do it. I decided to just start. So, I hung my little (not so little, she’s 23) sister’s work up. Isn’t it beautiful?!?!

She’s so talented. I have more to put in another grouping. And two prints of Frida’s work to add to this little mix. I have a beautiful framed picture of my grandparents that I want to display in the living room, but I don’t think my ambition will carry me that far before grub day.

Speaking of stuff-yourself-so-full-you-can’t-move day.

Somehow, the recent “I’m cooking, come by if you want to” declaration I made to ONE cousin has turned into a full on

Fall Feast Family ExtravaGANZA.

So, I’ve GOT to get this place into shape. I tackled the bathrooms and kitchen last night/early this morning. It was the kind of cleaning you do when you first move into a place and you have no idea whose been sitting on that toilet….thorough. I haven’t decided if I’ll kick the kiddies out of the living room during the day or wait until they go to sleep to overhaul that room….we’ll see.

ps- I’m still PINCHING myself on my pattern score! On the way home I felt as paranoid as if I had a sack of gold in my possession, lol. I simultaneously wanted to stop strangers to show them and was fearful of them being seen in case a seamstresses happened by and wanted to wrestle the bag from me! Crazy!

OK. It’s nearly 4am here. Time for a thorough shower, thorough hand moisturizing (bleach is SO drying!) and then bed.

  1. Dear Nettie,
I want to send you a big welcome hug for being part of the Art is a Way blogroll. It’s an honor having you on board. I also want to say congratulations on your talents. One day you’re going to publish a book and I’m going to buy a copy of it. Your sister is as talented a you are! Those paintings are amazing.
    Wishing you all the best!
    Elsita 🙂

  2. How cool! Your sister’s art is really amazing! Good luck with the Thanksgiving preparations– I’ve been the host of holidays with a snowballing guest list a few times, and it can be so stressful!
