Mixing it up

This week at the Sew Weekly everyone will be mixing it up. Mixing up prints, that is. I had a blast planning for this one, and I think you’ll like what I made, too. Inspiration for mixing prints is everywhere in fashion right now, from the runway to the streets.

I like to think of Ms. Solange Knowles as the reigning Queen of daring pattern mixing. Though I love something about all of these looks. I think it’s the daring. I find myself admiring a daring spirit more and more lately. I felt a bit courageous while modeling my look today. There is definitely something to be said for dressing the part.

I have another post on personal style coming up. This post gave me a lot of food for thought.

    • I agree, I think she’s beautiful! I’ve been inspired by her style for a while now. But, if not for this challenge, I don’t think I would have dared to try to mimic it.

  1. I love Solange! Her hair alone…swoon. I wore a mixed-print outfit to my office last week and the engineers I work with nearly had a stroke. It was too funny.
