Sewing Along For Fall

I’m joining up for fall!!

I’m trying to choose something for my Sew Weekly Reunion project. It’s a Pantone Color Challenge. Of course, I don’t have a single suitable color in my stash. Well, I have some orange knit in a color that’s close Koi. But, I’m not in the mood to sew with it.
Pantone Fall 2013 Color PaletteAnd Rochelle of Lucky Lucille & Tasha of By Gum, By Golly are hosting a sew-along that will challenge me to use my vintage pattern collection.

I’m planning on, finally, using this pattern, Simplicity 4676.

Simplicity 4676I say finally because I ironed the wrinkles out of the pattern and pinned it to the curtain in my craft room MONTHS ago. It’ll be glad to get down and be useful. I found three great versions of it online:

Looks promising!! Except, I usually hate to have things come up so high up on my chest….It looks really cute, though. And I have a some really nice linen-look cotton in white that would look great. And a dark colored floral lawn that would be good for fall, too. I think the texture and weight of the lawn work better with the bow. But, its sheerness will require additional finishing.

  1. Haha, I panicked a bit this morning when I realized the deadline was a week away and I don’t have the Pantone colors in my stash either – I’m sure I’ll remedy this soon! Very cute pattern! I also vote for the floral lawn; I think it would be perfect for fall.
