One skein pal revealed

I received my last package from my one skein pal. She is the lovely Jenn of Knit n’ Lit who must be a mind reader as well as a great knitter. This is what she made me One Skein Pal's gift

This is my first hand knit gift, and first pair of socks! Not only are they my favorite color, they fit perfectly and they will be well used this winter. I’m always cold and I live in a cold house so I am never bare foot in the winter. These squishy slippers socks will be a welcome change from what I normally wear on my feet around the house. I will spare everyone the horror of my slippers and say they aint pretty. Now if I replace my robe I can be less repulsive to my sister this winter.

Jenn also included a great bag for small projects (will post photo when I get a good one) and cleverly attached a hook to one end so I can attach it to my belt loop or bag. This will be put to use when school starts and I resume subway knitting. The bag will look a lot nicer than my normal zip lock bag and having the option of hooking it to something eliminates the threat of the thing hopping out of the bag when getting off the train in a rush.

I went over my plan for winter knits today and to call it ambitious is an understatement. It is as follows:
For me: Lady Eleanor, fingerless mitts, mittens, LMP Beret, chunky raglan sweater coat like this or this exact one if I get the pattern book.
Missy: Beret, scarf, mittens, legwarmers (all from this book). I would like to re-knit the button band of the Hated Sweater too.
Hubby: Socks, hat, scarf (maybe).
Sis: Fingerless mitts, scarf.

Please keep in mind that this is my last semester of school. I will be taking French III several years after sections I and II, a CORE class which will require two papers and an independent study class that will require watching the movie on the class syllabus at home whether it’s boring or not, a paper and lot’s of boring reading.
Right ambitious or off my rocker.

Knitting work out

If you need a fun knitting related work out for your upper body, hand felting is the way to go. You can sweat out all of your impurities, exfoliate your hands, and tone your arms all at once. Best of all when you’re done you have a beautifully felted item.

What started as this One Skein felted bowl before

Ended up as thisOne Skein felted bowl After
Pattern: Felted Bowl (large) from One Skein
Yarn: Knitpicks Sierra
Needles: Denise size 15′s
Started: August 1
Finished: August 1
Loved: August 1

No the little lady peeking out didn’t appear through the magic of felting = ). She is my version of the Wee pattern. She was created during a bout of insomnia last night (early this morning). My swap partner likes to collect pigs. I know she appreciates hand-made gifts so I think she’ll like her. Now I need to check off a candy treat, a note, and another something special if inspiration strikes (or the insomnia returns) and her package will be complete.

The razor cami is on time out. I never knew what knitting arm pain was like until this cami.
